This is basically a 44-52 week ‘job-readiness’ program. It has been introduced for assisting the former international students who have completed 2 years of study in Australia. The program thus helps them to obtain relevant workplace skills in their chosen occupation. The program has been strategically designed to effectively increase their employment skills and employability. The program thus helps in addressing Australia’s skill shortages in the ICT industry.
Are there other providers of the Australian Computer Society Professional Year program?
No! The Australian Computer Society stands as the only provider gazetted by the Minister for Immigration and Border protection.
Who can apply to do ACS Professional Year Program?
This is typically a job-readiness program. The program is aimed at former international ICT students who have been issued a 485 Skilled Graduate Visa.
What are the eligibility criteria?
To qualify for the ACS Professional Year Program, you must have:
- Completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Australia in ICT
- Hold or applied for a 485 visa (either stream)
- English language proficiency of IELTS score 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.0
